Base models of both come standard with a 158-HP, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with the opportunity to upgrade to a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 180-HP. All new models come with only front-wheel drive. The sedan only offers an automatic transmission, while the hatchback still gives drivers the choice of an automatic transmission or a six-speed manual. Drivers report the new Civic to be energetic and spry with responsive handling, playful steering, and a well-balanced ride. The fuel economy is excellent, as to be expected, with 33 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway.
