2020 Honda Insight: Specs, Features & Trim Comparison

2020 honda insight trim comparison specs features

The Insight is now in its 3rd generation, with each generation being different than the last one. The first-generation Insight was a cool, 2-door hatchback that just had space for two individuals. It was the initial hybrid available in North America and had exceptional gas mileage, yet it was not very practical. The second-generation Honda Insight was a 4-door hatchback that was really sensible and cheaper than the rival Prius. The current, 2020 Honda Insight is a typical 4-door car that provides the gas mileage of a gas/electric hybrid with the good-looking style of a sedan.

Performance Highlights

Considering that the 2020 Insight is a Hybrid, it really has two engines. The gas one is a 1.5 L 4-cylinder that produces 107hp and 99 lb-ft of torque. That may not sound like much but when you include the power from the electrical motor you get a more interesting 151hp. The electrical motor supplies 197 lb-ft of torque, which means this Honda Insight 2020 will likely feel remarkably frisky. You won’t feel like you are driving a hybrid, however you’ll still spend less time at the pump with an expected 55mpg in city driving!

Top Design Highlights

There was a time when qualifiers were required when going over the style of hybrid automobiles. That automobile looks nice, for a hybrid. That isn’t the case with the ’20 Insight because it’s a good looking car, full stop. Every new Honda Insight features LED headlights (with Auto-On/Off), LED tail lights, LED brake lights, heated power side mirrors, and 16-inch wheels. You can upgrade and get a moonroof, LED fog lights, as well as 17-inch wheels among other things. Inside you’ll find a 5-inch LCD stereo with Pandora and Bluetooth streaming, auto climate control, and LED lighting. You can move up to an 8-inch touchscreen stereo including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, add mobile hotspot capability, a HomeLink Remote, leather-trimmed seats, and heated front seating.

Technology

New cars are increasingly being filled with excellent safety and security modern technology, and the ’20 Insight is no exception. Every new Honda Insight has Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning. Remote engine start, mobile hotspot capability, and Honda LaneWatch are the only actual technology choices offered. You get a great deal for your money with the new Insight.

I’ve now had several experiences with Gallatin Honda, and unfortunately the pattern has been consistently negative. My most recent visit confirmed what my family and I have felt before: the customer service and atmosphere are not welcoming. I had an appointment scheduled for 11 AM and arrived at 11:20. Even with that small delay, my grandparents and I waited almost an hour before our salesperson greeted us, and then waited again until noon before being helped. The energy felt off, and the atmosphere was uncomfortable — especially with the managers sitting in a glass office overlooking the showroom. It genuinely felt like ... Read More

I had my vehicle serviced on 10/30/25 by Robert Brady Holt: He was exceptional! Nr. Holt went over everything with me that had been done on my vehicle and what to expect next time. I will definitely be back! Happy customer 😀

Anna and the crew have been awesome. Unfortunately today is her last. The other guys are also great. The parts department is also stellar.

We recently bought a 2022 Honda Pilot from this dealer. Our experience was wonderful especially compared to our experience with the Toyota dealer. The sales people at Gallatin Honda were patient and professional. They bent over backwards to provide for us a very good deal. We are very satisfied and would recommend them to everyone.
